Jewelers of America Declares CASE Award Winners

(IDEX On-line) – Jewelers of America (JA), the nationwide commerce affiliation for companies serving the wonderful jewellery market, has introduced the winners of its 27th annual CASE Awards jewellery design competitors.


The CASE Awards, JA’s nationwide design competitors for jewellery retailers, acknowledges JA Retail Members who exhibit creativity, artistry, model and excellence in jewellery design. The profitable entries are on show at Jewelers of America’s sales space #1866 on the JA New York Present, March 12-14, on the Jacob Javits Heart.


Winners had been chosen from 58 entries from JA Retail Members in 5 classes: Jewellery to $2,000, $2,001 to $5,000, $5,001 to $10,000, $10,001 to $50,000 (retail values) and, for the primary time, a ‘Folks’s Alternative’ award decided by the general public’s votes. Voting for the ‘Folks’s Alternative’ occurred at JA’s web site,, from March 6-10 and garnered over four,500 votes.


“The CASE Awards exemplifies the expertise and wonderful craftsmanship discovered within the shops of JA Member jewelers nationwide,” stated JA President & CEO David J. Bonaparte. “We’re excited that the brand new ‘Folks’s Alternative’ CASE Award generated a lot enthusiasm and gave much more publicity to the ability and creativity of Jewelers of America members.”


The winners within the 4 value classes had been decided by a panel of design consultants who evaluated the entries on the next standards: general design, marketability, practicality/wearability and high quality of manufacture. Judges included Natalie Bos Betteridge, Jewels du Jour; Amy Elliott, JCK Contributing Author and Engagement RIngs Editor; Severine Ferrari, Engagement 101; Amanda Gizzi, Jewelers of America; Michelle Graff, Nationwide Jeweler; and Maria Tsangaropoulos, GIA Jewellery Manufacturing Arts teacher.


Jewelers of America awards $500 money prizes for first-place winners of the 4 retail worth classes and $500 value of Fb promoting for the winner of the ‘Folks’s Alternative’ CASE Award. All 5 winners will obtain a personalized CASE Award trophy, nationwide and native media protection, and a characteristic in Nationwide Jeweler journal.
